What is Kinesio Taping?

Kinesio Tape and Kinesio Taping, developed over 25 years ago by Dr. Kenzo Kase, have become increasingly popular in the medical and athletic communities. Initially used by sports medicine doctors, physical therapists, rehabilitation specialists, and chiropractors, Kinesio Taping is now widely adopted by healthcare providers and top athletes worldwide, including athletes like multi-Olympic Gold Medalist Kerri Walsh.

What is Kinesio Taping is used for?

Kinesio Taping provides support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting circulation or range of motion. It is commonly used for injury prevention, pain management, edema, and muscle relaxation. Based on kinesiology, the science of muscle movement, Kinesio Tape helps support proper muscle function, improving circulation, venous flow, and lymphatic drainage. Unlike traditional sports taping, which restricts fluid flow, Kinesio Taping allows for continuous movement and support around the clock. This method is effective for a wide range of conditions, including headaches, foot problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, knee injuries, shoulder pain, rotator cuff injuries, whiplash, plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains, and more. It is also used for post-surgical edema and as a preventative treatment for athletes.
